Let me introduce myself. I am Steven Shelton, and I love football, and no not the American version. I am speaking of the English version, better known as soccer. I have always love soccer, I grew up watching and playing soccer as a young child. There is just something about the energy of the crowd and the energy of the players that is contagious.
I know most folks, in particular those in the States, will disagree with me. Or better yet, they will say that the same can be said for American football. And there is some truth to that. I have watched, and even had the pleasure of attending an NFL game. And yes, the crowd and the energy was off the charts. The difference for me, though, was that with soccer, it has to be a team effort. I will see if I can explain this more clearly. With American football, it a player is on the field, and doesn’t tackle anyone or doesn’t touch the ball, the team can still do well.
This isn’t the case with soccer. Every team member has to participate in some way in order for the team to score. I can’t speak for anyone else, but for me, I enjoy team playing, not just one or two players being considered the “stars.” I guess it just boils down to personal preference.
Anyway, thank you for stopping by!
